Poet, novelist, publicist and politician. Founder of the Ukrainski visti [Ukrainian News] magazine. Bahryanyi’s works, such as Sad Getsymansky [Gethsemane Gardens] (1948- 1950) and Tygrolovy [Catchers of Tigers], established the genre of Ukrainian adventure fiction.
